Description
The 20th Anniversary Macintosh, code-named Spartacus, is Apple's swank Limited Edition computer produced in 1997 to celebrate Apple's 20 years in business. Since only 10,000 units were ever produced, the Spartacus a must-have for the die-hard Apple enthusiast and you can now own this Apple collectible at a fraction of the original $7,500 price tag. The thin profile, dramatic curves, bronze surfaces and fantastic Bose sound system provides a visual impact that makes this machine an industrial design work of art. Specifications: • 250-MHz PowerPC 603e with a 256K Level 2 cache • 2 GB Enhanced IDE hard drive • 128 Mb memory (upgraded from stock 32Mb) • ATI 3D RAGE II 64-bit graphics & multi-media accelerator chip • 2 MB of video RAM, 50-MHz processor bus • 12.1-inch active-matrix display • 800x600-pixel resolution and 24-bit color • 3-D hardware acceleration onboard • Front-mounted CD-ROM drive • OS 9 installed. OS 8 (stock) and OS 9 installation CDs included. • 1.4 Mb high-density floppy disk drive (killer, eh? :) • Curved metal base that operates as both stand and gimbals for the machine's chassis • Keyboard with leather palm rests and a [removable] trackpad in the center • Removable trackpad that can be placed on either side of the keyboard, like a mouse • Two fabric speaker grilles that run the length of the machine • Bose-designed sound system, offering 3 watts per channel side-speaker output, supplemented by a 7-watt subwoofer • Power supply housed in the subwoofer, thereby reducing desktop clutter • Speaker system based on Bose's Acoustimass technology, which produces tremendously fat sound at low output wattage • Ethernet PCI card • Built-in TV tuner • Built-in FM tuner • Headphone jack • Built-in microphone • Sound input and output ports • S-video input This unit is in great shape. It is fully functional and includes the optional Ethernet PCI card, which was not part of the basic package (believe it or not!). It ships in the original box. The only cosmetic issue is that the shroud on the wire bundle going into the machine on the backside has pulled away by about 1/4" (a very common problem with these units), but presents no functional issue. The original pen and pencil set that came with it is missing the pen. Wicked Cool !!!
